RTÉ lyric fm is to host an historic international five-day forum promoting new music.

The meeting will be the 55th convocation of contemporary music producers from national radio networks in 30 countries and the first ever to visit Ireland. Proceedings, from 9-13 June, will involve the selection of ‘the most distinctive works composed within the five years preceding the Rostrum’ in two categories: General and Young Composer Under 30.

During the week, delegates will attend concerts by Crash Ensemble. Concorde and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the launch of a new recital CD by harpist Clíona Doris on the RTÉ lyric fm label, and a reception and presentation on Irish contemporary music by the Contemporary Music Centre.

A live announcement from the National Concert Hall of the Rostrum’s adjudications can be heard following a special report on this year’s proceedings on RTÉ from 7pm on Friday 13 June.
