New Music Alive

CMC is inviting applications from composers to facilitate workshops in two schools in Dublin.

Through this initiative, New Music Alive, the selected facilitator will run a series of five one-hour workshops, designed to bring new music into the classroom, in two primary schools in Dublin city centre. Arising from these workshops the facilitator will be required to produce written materials that can subsequently be used by other primary school teachers.

The project aims to encourage and assist teachers in bringing contemporary music into their classrooms, as well as helping raise awareness of Irish composers and their activities.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is Friday, 18 July 2008.

For full details of the application process, please see our Opportunities section or contact Sinead O'Sullivan, Office Manager, email: sosullivan@cmc.ie, tel: 01-673 1922.

New Music Alive is funded by Dublin City Council Arts Grants.
