Victor Lazzarini Premiere in County Clare

Victor Lazzarini
Victor Lazzarini

A new work by Victor Lazzarini is premiered at the Winter Music Weekend festival in Clare in January.

Composed for Irish guitarist Brendan Walsh, and originally scheduled for performance in Dublin in August, Sumiduoro (meaning 'sink-hole' in Portuguese) for solo guitar will now be heard in public for the first time in The Courthouse in Sixmilebridge, County Clare on Sunday 18 January as part of the 10th annual Winter Music Weekend festival.

The work by Victor Lazzarini is seven minutes long and, says the composer, 'Starts with a hesitant motif that crystallises into a fast-paced triplet-rhythm continuum leading into a contemplative middle-section. The piece concludes with an almost unexpected final section based again on triplets'.
