University Residency Announced for Vocal Trio Juice
The University of Ulster has appointed experimental vocal trio Juice as its Ensemble-in-Residence. The London-based all-female group will make its first visit to the university's Magee Campus in Derry between 24-29 November to undertake a programme of performances, workshops and outreach activities. The ensemble -- whose members include Kerry Andrew, Sarah Dacey and Anna Snow -- will also give two public performances. The first, at 1.15pm on Tuesday 25 November, in the Great Hall of the campus, will include the Irish premiere of The Three Orphans by the university's music lecturer, Laurence Roman. On Wednesday 26 November, the trio will perform with support from DEME, the interdisciplinary arts collective drawn from students of the university's School of Creative Arts, at Sandinos Bar, Water Street, Derry, at 9pm. The concert will include a cappella, accompanied and multimedia performances, and is to feature 3 glimpses by Adam Melvin, currently a lecturer in popular music and composition at the university.
