Horizons 2009 The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra's series of new music concerts returns to the National Concert Hall in January 2009. The composers featured in this year's series are Seóirse Bodley, John Buckley, Benjamin Dwyer and Derek Ball. Music by these featured composers includes Bodley's Never to Have Lived is Best, Buckley's A Mirror into the Light, Dwyer's Guitar Concerto No. 1, and Ball's Full On and Valediciton from Aes Triplex.
The performances include soprano Sylvia O'Brien, flautist William Dowdall, percussionist Richard O'Donnell and viola player Matthew Jones. The concerts will be conducted by Colman Pearce, Gavin Maloney and Robert Houlihan. Each of the composers will give a pre-concert talk on the day they are featured.
