Russian Chamber Orchestra Tours Ireland
Music by Michael Holohan features in a Russian orchestra's debut Irish tour during November. The Ferry across the Boyne, a four-minute-long work for string orchestra by Michael Holohan, has been added to the touring programme of the Russian Chamber Orchestra, Kursk for its first appearances in Ireland. The 10-date tour began in Limerick on Thursday 13 November and has already visited Waterford, Cork and Wexford. Concerts will also be given in St Columba's Church, Iona Road, Dublin on Tuesday 18 November, the Town Hall Theatres in Galway (19th) and Dundalk (20th), the Augustinian Church, Drogheda (21st) and the Venue Theatre in Ratoath, Co. Meath, where the tour will end on Saturday 22 November. All performances begin at 8pm. The Ferry across the Boyne will be heard alongside works by Vivaldi, Grieg, Elgar, Samuel Barber, Mozart, Franck and Puccini.
