Three Premiere Performances From Ronan Guilfoyle in February
A new concerto by Ronan Guilfoyle will receive its first performance in Dublin on 8 February. Commissioned by RTÉ, Synapsis will be heard in public for the first time at the National Concert Hall, Dublin when it will be performed by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Giordano Bellincampi. The work, a concerto for orchestra, will open a concert that also includes Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto (with soloist Arabella Steinbacher) and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 4. Ronan Guilfoyle will give a pre-concert talk about Synapsis at 6.45pm, with the concert beginning at 8pm. Guilfoyle's music can also be heard at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin on 24 February. The concert will include the premiere of his Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 2 given by violinist Michael D’Arcy and pianist Izumi Kimura. For further details, please see our calendar.
