Forum for Music in Ireland

Forum for Music logo

Recession-proofing music is the subject for the Forum for Music in Ireland's forthcoming conference.

The Catherine Brennan Hall at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin will host a day-long conference organised by the Forum for Music in Ireland (FMI) on 3 November from 10:15 to 4:00pm.

The focus of the day is on reviewing key topics for music making in Ireland in these challenging times, including funding challenges in light of the recent economic downturn, managing a career in the 21st century, and a review of new developments at policy level for music education.

Speakers will include Dermot McLaughlin, CEO of Temple Bar Cultural Trust, Stuart McLaughlin, CEO of Business2Arts, Rosita Wolfe (Head of Marketing and Communications, National Concert Hall) and Mary Nunan, Chair, Arts and Education Committee.

The day will also include a keynote presentation from John O'Conor, pianist and director of the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
