Film Scoring Opportunity for Composers The best emerging Irish film makers and composers are being brought together to work on a collaborative project. Following the success of previous film-scoring workshops, the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in association with Filmbase, FÁS Screen Training Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre are presenting a further workshopping opportunity. The focus of the project will be a one-day recording session in RTÉ studios in early 2009. This will involve the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing and recording original scores for short film submissions received from both student and professional Irish filmmakers. It will provide emerging filmmakers and composers with a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills with hands-on experience in a vital aspect of film post-production. It is also a rare opportunity to have a score performed by full orchestra. Applications are being sought from interested composers who would like to participate in this project, with a closing date of 1 September 2008.
