The Art of Sound Exhibition on Display in Tallaght

CMC's multimedia exhibition, The Art of Sound, is on display in the Civic Theatre in Tallaght from 6 March-4 April.

Following a successful run in the Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford in February, where it was on display as part of Waterford New Music Week, the exhibition will be on view at the Alternative Entertainments Gallery at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght, Dublin.

The Art of Sound, which features photos by Eugene Langan and commentary by Eamonn Lawlor of RTÉ lyric fm, gives an insight into the creative processes behind the work of some Irish composers. It was originally devised by the Contemporary Music Centre in partnership with the Music Department of University College Cork, and funded by Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture with support from the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.

This is an exciting opportunity to see the exhibition, as this is the first time it has been on display in Dublin.

The Art of Sound exhibition opens on 6 March at 3 pm and runs until 4 April 2008 at the Alternative Entertainments Gallery, Civic Theatre, Tallaght, Dublin. Gallery opening hours are 10 am - 6 pm, Monday to Friday. For further information, please contact The Contemporary Music Centre, 19 Fishamble Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 8, Tel: 01-673 1922, email info@cmc.ie or visit www.altents.ie.
