Benjamin Dwyer Performs Benjamin Dwyer

Benjamin Dwyer
Benjamin Dwyer

Benjamin Dwyer is to perform his own Études for solo guitar in Dublin in June.

The Hugh Lane Gallery, Parnell Square, Dublin will play host to a performance of the composer’s 12 Études for guitar on Sunday, 8 June by the composer.

First sketched in 1996 and revised in the intervening years, the four books of études, says Dwyer, ‘try to tackle (in the age-old tradition) the problem of writing works for the instrument which address specific technical problems and which are also concert works of value -- that combination necessary to produce the true concert Étude’.

Admission to the concert, which starts at noon, is free.
