Cork International Choral Festival
CMC’s award for the performance of an original choral work by an Irish composer at the Cork International Choral Festival has been won by the PfizerPfonics Choir. The Cork-based PfizerPfonics Choir, conducted by Bernadette Kiely, won the Perpetual Trophy for the Performance of Irish Contemporary Choral Music for their performance of Michael McGlynn’s Geantraí. The piece was performed in the Premier National Competition for Mixed Voice Choirs. The Perpetual Trophy award is offered by CMC to the best performance of a choral work written by an Irish composer since 1975 and selected from the centre's library collection.
