Concorde at The National Gallery
New music ensemble Concorde is to play three concerts in the National Gallery on Sunday 28 September. Now in its third decade, the Jane O'Leary-led contemporary music group will be joined by the Spanish-based Dutch bass clarinet player Harry Sparnaay and conducted by Dermot Dunne for the concerts beginning at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm in the National Gallery's Shaw Room. The programme includes music by Sparnaay, O'Leary (Reflections II), Stephen Gardner (Stretch), Brian Keegan and Alyson Barber, as well as a number of international composers, among them the Korean Si-Hyun Yi, who will be in attendance for the first performances of a new Concorde-commissioned work. Admission to all three concerts is free. For details, see our calendar or www.concorde.ie. Posted: 24 September 2008
