CMC Salon Series
Ensemble ICC will perform at the third and final concert in the CMC Salon Series 2008. The performance takes place on 26 November 2008, 6.30pm at the Goethe-Institut, Merrion Square, Dublin. Ensemble ICC is the performance wing of the Irish Composers' Collective (ICC). The ICC is a democratic organisation designed to support composers at the early stages of their careers, and Ensemble ICC is the outlet through which their music is performed. Members of the ensemble, Rachel Factor (harpsichord) and Enda Collins (horn), are performing four new works by Dylan Rynhart, Donal Sarsfield, Johanne Heraty and David Bremner. The Salon Series is designed to introduce the newcomer to contemporary music as well as capture the interest of those already familiar with it. Each performance takes place in an informal atmosphere in which the composers and performers invite questions and feedback from the audience. The series began on 15 October with a performance by soprano Sylvia O'Brien accompanied by composer Seóirse Bodley on the piano, and continued with pianist Mary Dullea on 5 November. Admission to the Salon is free but booking is advised. For details please see our calendar or contact Aoife FitzPatrick, Promotion Officer, on 01-673 1922 or email afitzpatrick@cmc.ie. CMC's Salon performances are made possible by the support of the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. CMC would like to acknowledge the support of the Goethe Institut, Dublin in making the venue available. Posted: 11 November 2008
