Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra The Dublin-based Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra has released its second recording. The project features a return to his classical roots for traditional music veteran and longtime member of The Dubliners, John Sheahan, who has composed a new work for the recording. Sheahan says The Marino Suite (which has been orchestrated by Raymond Deane) was written with the intention of ‘inspiring young Irish musicians to appreciate the links between classical and traditional music’. Founded in 1988 and with members ranging in age from 7 to 17, the orchestra was conducted on the recording by its artistic director, Ronald Masin. The CD was officially launched on 25 October at the Mansion House in Dublin. For further details, or to purchase a copy of the CD, please visit www.youngeuropeanstrings.com. Posted: 20 November 2007
