SPOR 2007
Composer Jennifer Walshe is featured at the SPOR Festival 2007 in Denmark this May. SPOR 2007 aims to create events that challenge the terms of a classical concert in content. What happens when the composer himself goes on stage and blurs the distinction between musician and writer? What happens when musicians appropriate the space assigned to the audience as part of the work itself? Are DJ’s creative artists in their own right? Artists taking part in this festival include Christian Marclay, Zeena Parkins, Ikue Mori and djTRIO (USA). Natasha Barrett and Kaj Aune (Norway), Benedict Mason (UK), Laurent Dailleau, Cecile Babiole, Frank Ollu, Eric-Maria Couturier, erikm and Dalila Khatir (France), Atau Tanaka (Japan), Ivo Nilsson (Sweden), SENSORS_SONICS_SIGHTS (France and Japan) and Jennifer Walshe (Ireland). Denmark is represented by Jacob Anderskov, Bjørn Svin, Juliana Hodkinson, Maria-Laurette Friis, Jonas Olesen, Henriette Groth, Jakob Riis, The Ghettoblaster Ensemble, Ensemble 2000 og Aarhus Symfoniorkester. Ridehuset will play its own part in the festival with specially designed scenography designed by the artist group 'van Gogh'. The SPOR Festival runs from 10-13 May in Ridehuset, Denmark.
