Sales Success for Michael McGlynn in America

Michael McGlynn’s choir Anúna has become the biggest-selling world music act in the United States with its latest CD and DVD release, Anúna: Celtic Origins.

The success comes in advance of an extensive 41-date American tour that begins in Columbus, Ohio on 3 October and ends on 5 December in Baltimore, Maryland.

The DVD is a commercial release of an 80-minute programme that is currently enjoying repeated broadcasts on the American Public Service TV network, PBS, as well as being seen on 210 different regional channels.

The success follows an intensive tour of stores owned by book and music retailer Borders during July and August and a period as choir-in-residence at the Newfoundland-based Festival 500, which involved Michael McGlynn and the choir in a series of performances and vocal masterclasses.

Anúna will also embark on a seven-date tour of Japan in December.
