Performances of New Work by Trevor Knight in Galway

Slat, a new multi-disciplinary, site-specific work by composer-director Trevor Knight, will receive its premiere on 16 July as part of this year’s Galway Arts Festival.

A live installation in the basement of the Radisson SAS Hotel, the work explores the phenomenon of feral children and is intended to be ‘an intense and total experience for the senses’ and explores ‘how we might function without language or knowledge of how to act’.

Written for vocals, keyboards, electric guitar, percussion and accordion, it also features contributions from visual artist Alice Maher and Japanese Butoh dancer Maki Watanabe with choreography by Gyohei Zaitsu and costume designs by Yuni Hong.

Slat runs at The Basement, Radisson SAS Hotel, Lough Atalia Road, Galway from 16-21 July. For further details, see the Calendar.
