Irish Chamber Orchestra Concerts
Works by John Kinsella and Peteris Vasks will feature in ICO concerts during October. The Irish Chamber Orchestra is to include John Kinsella's Hommage à Clarence in four concerts at home and in Germany during October. The 12-minute work for string orchestra forms part of a programme that will also include Latvian composer Peteris Vask's one-movement violin concerto Distant Light alongside Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and Haydn's Mourning Symphony (No 44). ICO artistic director Anthony Marwood will make his first appearance this season with the Limerick-based ensemble, with clarinettist Jörg Widman the guest soloist. The programme will be performed at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on 18 October, the newly opened CIT Cork School of Music, Cork on 19 October, University Concert Hall, Limerick on 20 October and the Konzerthaus, Berlin on 23 October.
