New works by Ciarán Farrell will be premiered by Codetta, the Smith Quartet and Gerard McChrystal later this year.

Derry based choir Codetta and saxophonist Gerard McChrystal will premiere two new pieces by Ciarán Farrell at the Opera Fringe in Downpatrick, Co. Down in June. In September, the Smith Quartet and Gerard McChrystal will premiere The Pilgrim’s Return at Wigmore Hall, London. This three-movement work was commissioned with funds from the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon and will be included in a Music Network tour in April 2007.

Other upcoming performances include Perfect State to be performed by Concorde at the National Gallery in May, while German guitarist Marco Schmidt will perform The Shannon Suite and Around and About (with flautist Matthias Nahmmacher) as part of a tour later in the year.
