The Crash Ensemble will perform music by Donnacha Dennehy in New York this month.

'New Sounds Live' returns to Merkin Hall with the Scandinavian Trio Mediæval and Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy and the Crash Ensemble, premiering works exploring the interface between old and new music.

Trio Mediæval is a trio of female singers who specialize in medieval ballads from England, France and Norway. They share a double bill with the Crash Ensemble, who will perform a number of Donnacha Dennehy's works. The group will perform the North American premiere of Grá agus Bás with Sean Nós singer Iarla Ó Lionáird. Following this, Lisa Moore (from Bang on a Can All-Stars) will premiere Dennehy's new piece for piano and electronics, Stainless Staining.

The performance takes place at the Merkin Concert Hall on Wednesday 28 March. See Calendar for details.
