Crash Ensemble Tour

The Crash Ensemble

The Crash Ensemble continues its tenth anniversary celebrations with a three-date national tour with guest vocalist Iarla Ó Lionáird.

The tour follows the group’s recent debut in New York and will feature first performances of two new settings of Sean Nós songs by Crash Ensemble co-founder Donnacha Dennehy as well as a repeat performance of his Grá agus Bás. Other works to be featured include Terry Riley’s Loops for Ancient Giant Hairy Warriors Racing Down the Slopes of Battle, written especially for Crash Ensemble and Louth Contemporary Music Society, and Kebyar Maya by Evan Ziporyn.

The tour begins on 16 November as part of the Sionna Festival at the University of Limerick’s Performing Arts Centre, moves to Aula Maxima at University College, Cork on 22 November, and concludes the following night at Ionad Culturtha, Ballyvourney, West Cork.
