Concorde: Encore Performances

James Wilson

Stephen Gardner
James Wilson and Stephen Gardner

Works by James Wilson and Stephen Gardner are among Concorde's selected pieces for an encore performance.

This February at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Concorde contemporary music ensemble will perform a selection of favourite pieces from recent years.

The programme opens with American composer Joan Tower’s quintet Amazon, and is followed by music by Howard Skempton and Ton Bruynel. Irish works on the programme include James Wilson’s Wildwood for soprano and violin and You Never Know What’s Round the Corner by Stephen Gardner, commissioned by Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council for Concorde in 1999. All of the works were given their Irish premiere by Concorde.

The concert takes place on Sunday 11 February as part of Dublin City Gallery: The Hugh Lane 'Sundays@Noon' series. See Calendar for details.
