CoMA Summer School 2007

The CoMA Contemporary Music Festival Summer School is for musicians of all abilities.

Course options are available for instrumentalists, singers and composers, providing a week of intensive tuition from leading figures in the contemporary music world.

This year, composer Brian Irvine will be leading the Improvisation Ensemble for the first time. Workshops will be led by Joby Burgess (percussion), Sarah Leonard (soprano), cellist Robin Michael (cello), and composers Dominic Murcott and Phil Cashian.

New works at the Summer School will include commissions by Elspeth Brooke, Phil Cashian, Richard Causton, Bryn Harrison, David Horne, Anthony Powers and Huw Watkins.

A BMIC Cutting Edge concert will be given by Mary Dullea and Darrgh Morgan featuring works by Gerald Barry, Phil Cashian, Deirdre Gribbin, Geoff Hannan, Conlon Nancarrow and Jennifer Walshe.

The summer school runs from 21 to 28 July 2007 at Doncaster College. See Opportunities for further details.
