CMC Salon Series 2007 The Contemporary Music Centre's new music Salon series returns in September with a performance from cellist Kate Ellis. Kate Ellis is a freelance cellist based in Dublin who works extensively within all genres of contemporary, classical and improvised music. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, London and the Royal Irish Academy of Music, she is a member of the Crash Ensemble and tours with the Karan Casey Band. Kate also performs with Improvised Music Company artists Fuzzy Logic Ensemble and the Balkan inspired Yurodni Septet. Her Salon on 27 September will feature performances of works by Ian Wilson, Kevin O'Connell, Ailís Ní Ríain and Karen Power along with some lively discussion between the performer, composers and audience. The Contemporary Music Centre's new music Salons have been taking place since October 2003 offering an opportunity for audiences to hear and discuss contemporary music in an informal atmosphere. The 2007 series also features performances from the EAR New Music Ensemble in October, and pianist Ivan Ilic in November. The performance takes place on Thursday, 27 September 2007 from 6.30 - 7.30 pm in the Goethe Institut. Admission is free but booking is required.
