Next CMC Salon
The Contemporary Music Centre’s next Salon on 25 October features the EAR New Music Ensemble. The event takes place in the Goethe-Institut in Dublin's Merrion Square and includes performances of works by Gordon Delap, Iain McCurdy, David Stalling, and Rory Walsh, along with informal discussions. Electro Acoustic Revue (EAR) is a Dublin-based collective of composers and performers who specialise in the electroacoustic medium and its interactions with instrumental music. Since its inception in 2001, EAR has developed a reputation for innovative performances of new works of Irish and international composers. The group's repertoire includes works featuring different combinations of solo and ensemble musicians with live computer processing, as well as tape, video and music theatre works. The Contemporary Music Centre's new music Salon series has been running since October 2003 and offers an opportunity to hear and discuss contemporary music in an informal atmosphere. The series provides a platform for performers and composers to experiment with new work without the pressures of a formal concert setting. The performance takes place on Thursday, 25 October 2007 from 6.30 – 7.30 pm in the Goethe-Institut, Merrion Square. Admission is free and discussions continue informally after the performance. For details please visit the Calendar. Further information: Karen Hennessy, Promotion Manager, 01-673 1922 or email khennessy@cmc.ie. CMC’s Salon performances are made possible by the support of the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. CMC would like to acknowledge the support of the Goethe Institut, Dublin, in making the venue available. Posted: 2 October 2007
