CMC Celebrates Culture Night 2007

The Contemporary Music Centre takes part in Culture Night on 14 September.

Culture Night logo

In an initiative which has been running for many years in other major cities such as New York, Rome, Paris, Copenhagen etc, on Friday 14 September over 80 of Dublin's leading museums, galleries, studios and theatres will throw open their doors until 10.00pm to encourage people who normally don't do so to visit them and learn of the city's rich cultural offering.

CMC's contribution to the evening will feature live and improvised electronic music performed by three of Dublin's most exciting new electronic musicians. Ian McDonnell, Ewan Hennelly (Muttermal) and Francis Heery will perform both individually and together as a laptop ensemble, creating everything from ambient drones to terrifying noise, rhythmical, non-rhythmical, melodic and abstract, and anything in between.
