CMC Awards at the Fintan O'Carroll Feis First and second-level students competed in the Waterford Institute of Technology’s Fintan O’Carroll Feis earlier this month. Prizes were awarded by the Contemporary Music Centre for the best overall performance of new Irish music in the under-11 and under-17 age groups. In the Junior section, Conor Douris (piano) was the winner for his performance of Jack-in-the-box from Pick-up Pieces by Philip Martin. The Senior winner was Frances McQuillan (flute) for her performance of Upside-down for Melanie by Joseph Groocock. The awards were presented at the Prizewinners' Concert on Wednesday 18 April in the Good Shepherd Chapel of WIT. Posted: 21 April 2007
