red over black was co-commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Society and the BBC, and will be performed by Martin Fröst, Pierre Lénert and Cédric Tiberghien.

This will be Ian Wilson's second BBC Proms premiere, the first being his orchestral work Man-o'-War, which was performed by the Ulster Orchestra at the Proms in 2001.

The concert takes place on Monday, 14 August 2006 in Cadogan Hall, London. It will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, repeated the following Saturday at 12.00 noon. See Calendar for details.
