DU Music Society presents NODE III

The Dublin University Music Society presents a concert of new music from Trinity College, Dublin.

The Node Ensemble, under the direction of Ian Lahiffe, performs a programme of new music by composers active in Trinity College, Dublin.

The event will feature the work of Garrett Sholdice, Brian Flynn, Jane Cassidy, Benedict Schlepper-Connolly, Ian McDonnell, Paul Smyth, Francis Heery, Dermot Solon, Mick Major and Mischa Langemeijer. Many of the featured composers are members of the Young Composers' Collective and have had their music performed in Ireland and overseas by top performing groups, including Concorde and members of the Crash Ensemble.

The sixteen-piece ensemble is drawn from the RIAM Symphony Orchestra, RIAM Percussion Ensemble, Dublin Youth Orchestra, DUMS Contemporary Music Ensemble, TCD Orchestral Society, Ensemble Imp and the Dublin jazz and free improvisation scenes.

The concert takes place in the Project Arts Centre on Wednesday 5 April, and is supported by the Provost's Visual and Performing Arts Grant. See Calendar for details.
