All Creatures Mainly Small
The National Chamber Choir of Ireland (NCC) this year celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of its foundation. This year's Spring Tour conducted by David Brophy will bring the warmth and vivacity of its performance to audiences throughout Ireland. The tour programme, 'All creatures mainly small', is a combination of history, wit and romance, full of delightful, timeless pieces, and includes works by Ian Wilson, Kevin O'Connell and C. V. Stanford. After a period as Apprentice Conductor with the National Chamber Choir, David Brophy was the first person to occupy the position of Assistant Conductor with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. He has also worked with other ensembles, including the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre Company, Lyric Opera, Orchestra of St Cecilia, Vox21 and Crash Ensemble. The tour begins in the National Gallery of Ireland on Thursday 2 March, and continues with performances in Adare, Ennis, Cavan, Ballyshannon and Enniskillen. The tour concludes on Sunday 12 March, with a performance in the Millbank Theatre, Rush. For programme details please visit the Calendar. Posted: 13 February 2006
