Music 21 Concert Series 2006 - 2007

Raymond Deane
Raymond Deane

The Music 21 concert series (formerly Mostly Modern) features the premiere of a new piano work by Raymond Deane.

This year's festival began with a performance by Barry Guy and Mats Gustafsson in JJ Smyth's on Wednesday 1 November. Australian guitarist Craig Ogden performs new music for classical guitar in Odessa on Monday 4 December, with special birthday celebration tributes to Steve Reich and Hans Werner Henze.

In January, British pianist Ian Pace premieres Siris by Raymond Deane at the National Concert Hall, while February sees the first Irish performance by Berlin's amm trio at the Hugh Lane Gallery.

Later in 2007, Music 21 will also present the winning works from its two composers' competitions -- the Music 21 / AIC International Composers' Competition and the Music 21 / IMRO Young Irish Composers' Competition.

See Calendar for full details of the Music 21 Concert Series.
