The Irish violin and piano duo of Darragh Morgan and Mary Dullea has released a CD of contemporary music on the NMC label.

Entitled Opera and featuring British composers Joe Cutler, Richard Causton, Joseph Phibbs, Bryn Harrison, Jonathan Powell and Morgan Hayes, all the works were commissioned by Morgan and written during the last ten years.

This was a very personal project for Darragh Morgan and he chose the composers as being, in his view, the most exciting working in Britain at the present time, involving the composers closely in the recording process.

Both performers are virtuosos on their instruments and the works are now regularly performed in their touring repertoire abroad, and have been taken up by other instrumentalists.

This dynamic compilation is an exciting contribution to the piano and violin canon.
