Deirdre Gribbin has written the music for a play based on Dostoevsky’s The Possessed.

The radio play, by Lou Stein, departs from the expansiveness of the original novel and focuses on the psychology of the development of a dangerous local terrorist cell, seen through the eyes of a local journalist, Govorov (played by John Sessions).

It features originally composed music by Irish composer Deirdre Gribbin, who previously collaborated with Lou Stein on a number of radio productions.

The play will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday, 7 May at 7.50pm.
