Composition in Galway

Jane O'Leary
Jane O'Leary

A young composers’ workshop will take place in Galway as part of Project '06 this summer.

Although intended primarily for Galway-based composers, the workshop will be open to composers from all over Ireland. Composer Jane O'Leary and student Éamon Brett are involved in the organisation which is still at a planning stage.

Taking place as part of Project ’06, the alternative arts event which is being planned to coincide with the annual Galway Arts Festival, a key aim of the workshop is to raise the profile of composition in Galway.

The organisers would like to hear from any interested composers, particularly those based in the west of Ireland.
