Hugh Lane Gallery Sunday Series Resumes

Gerald Barry
Gerald Barry

The Sundays @ Noon concert series resumes in Dublin's Hugh Lane Gallery this month and includes music by a number of Irish composers.

Following a break of two years during extensive gallery renovations, Dublin's longest running chamber music series returns to its popular Sunday lunchtime slot in the Sculpture Gallery.

The Autumn/Winter Season 2006 focuses on two composers. 2006 is the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth and the 150th anniversary of Schumann's death. The opening concert on Sunday 1 October includes works by each of these composers for clarinet, viola and piano.

Other concerts throughout the season will feature leading Irish and international performers as well as other works by Mozart and Schumann. On Sunday 8 October, violinist Darragh Morgan presents a programme of contemporary music including works by Gerald Barry, while on Sunday 15 October viola d'amore virtuoso Garth Knox performs a programme of music ranging from the 16th to the 21st Century.

The concerts start at noon, last approximately one hour and admission is free. See Calendar for details.
