The French Connection

Deidre McKay
Deirdre McKay

The National Chamber Choir's autumn tour includes music by Deirdre McKay.

'The French Connection' is the theme for the tour, which takes place between 28 September and 13 October.

The programme includes two modern works: Philippe Leroux’ 'L', a choral exploration of an 18th-century chanson, and the premiere of a new commission by Irish composer Deirdre McKay based on an original French text by Samuel Beckett. The performances will finish with the sublime and soul-stirring Mass for two choirs by Swiss-French composer Frank Martin.

The programme also includes music by Poulenc, Françaix, Debussy and Ravel, finishing with Frank Martin's Mass for two choirs.

The National Chamber Choir’s tour runs in ten venues throughout Ireland from 28 September to 13 October. See Calendar for details.
