Exchange Day for Artists A Professional Development Forum is to be established for artists of all disciplines in the South East. In 2005, five local authority arts officers -- Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford (county), Wexford and Wicklow -- came together to commission research into the formation of a Professional Development Forum for artists of all disciplines in the South East. On Saturday, 6 May in the Parade Tower, Kilkenny, an Exchange Day will be hosted as part of this research process. The day aims to enable artists to identify their own professional development needs and contribute to the formation of this forum. Working artists of different disciplines from around the country, including composer Ian Wilson and traditional musician Fintan Vallely, will talk about their own professional development as a means of generating thought and discussion. Eve O’Kelly, CMC’s director, will contribute to the discussions and there will also be opportunities for networking and information exchange. The event is free. Places are limited and booking is essential. Booking forms will be available in early April from Ms. Ann Brazil, Exchange Day Co-ordinator, Arts Department, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Wexford.
