New Music from Ensemble Imp

Ensemble Imp presents a concert of new music, animation and film at Dublin’s Goethe-Institut in June.

The five-piece ensemble will perform music by American composers John Cage and James Tenney. They will also present a new animated film by the Irish-American filmmaker Daniel Robinson, and improvisation to a new film by London-based artist Connor Grogan, especially commissioned by the ensemble.

Works by Irish composers include a revised orchestration of The Sun Also Rises by Benedict Schlepper-Connolly, which was premiered by the ensemble in November 2005. Garrett Sholdice's In Memoriam Hunter S. Thompson, and new works by Jean Atkins and Aengus Ó Maoláin are also on the programme.

The concert takes place on Thursday 15 June in the Goethe-Institut on Merrion Square, Dublin 2. See Calendar for details.
