Quasi Una Musica
Composer Frank Corcoran's latest CD is now available. Frank Corcoran gives some of the background to this CD: "Since my Mad Sweeney shenanigans in 1995 with Seamus Heaney´s translation of that great medieval Irish epic and the various Sweeney-Corcoran works that it triggered off, I started my series of "Quasi" works, including Quasi Un Canto for large orchestra, Quasi Un Lamento for chamber-orchestra, and the electro-acoustic Quasi Una Missa, which won the 2002 Swedish EMS Prize." This new Composers' Art CD, assembled in Berlin and Salzburg, includes six works, from Quasi Una Visione, commissioned for Ensemble Modern by the 2005 RTÉ Living Music Festival, to the Quasi - Variations on A MHÁIRÍN DE BARRA, which RTÉ lyric fm commissioned in 2004 for Constantin Zanidache. 'Quasi una Musica' was released on Monday 15 May on the Zeitklang record label. To order a copy, please visit our Shop. Posted: 23 May 2006
