CMC Sound Installations in the Old City
The Contemporary Music Centre has received funding to commission three sound installations to mark its 20th anniversary. The works, which will be electro-acoustic in nature, will be installed for the month of June 2006 in outdoor locations in the historic Old City area of Temple Bar where CMC is located. Two will be installed on the streets of the area and one in CMC's own rear courtyard, with the aim of providing a trail for visitors which will culminate in a visit to the Centre. A call for submissions has been sent out to composers in all forms of music and the deadline for applications is 5.30 pm on Monday, 27 March 2006. The commissions will be awarded by an independent panel of assessors. The commissions are funded by Temple Bar Properties and the project is made possible by funding from Dublin City Council Arts Office. Full details are available in the Opportunities section.
