CMC April Salon
The next CMC Salon is a new music marathon of student compositions on 8 April. In one afternoon CMC brings together undergraduate and postgraduate composition and performance students from University College Dublin (UCC), University College Cork (UCC), NUI Maynooth and Trinity College Dublin (TCD). As part of CMC’s 20th anniversary seroes, four eclectic programmes of electro-acoustic and instrumental music will take place, each compiled by a different curator: Wolfgang Marx (UCD); John Godfrey (UCC); Martin O’Leary (Maynooth) and Donnacha Dennehy (TCD). As well as an opportunity to hear the latest in new music by the newest talent, there will be time for discussion during each programme and at intervals throughout the day. A reception given by CMC will follow the event. The Contemporary Music Centre's new music Salons have been taking place since October 2003 offering an opportunity to hear and discuss contemporary music in an informal atmosphere. With a burgeoning of young talent in composition and performance in Ireland at the moment, CMC is very pleased to offer this platform to hear exciting new work. The performance takes place on Saturday, 8 April 2006 from 2.00 to 6.00 pm in the Printing House adjacent to New Square in the Trinity College campus. Admission is free and discussions continue informally after the performance. For details please visit the Calendar.
