Arts Minister John O’Donoghue TD visited the Contemporary Music Centre on 13 June to mark its 20th anniversary.

As part of an Open Day, the Centre was delighted to welcome the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism on his first visit to the Contemporary Music Centre. In addition to a tour of the collection and a reception at 5.00pm, he also formally launched the Old City/New Music trail of sound installations which runs throughout June.

Other events on the day included an illustrated talk, Reviewing 20 years and looking forward, by Eve O’Kelly, the Centre’s director, followed by refreshments.

The three commissioned composers for the music trail, Siobhán Cleary, Ailís Ní Ríaín and Seán Taylor spoke about their work and brought participants on a walking tour of the installations in the neighbouring streets.
