CMC Funding News The Contemporary Music Centre has received funding from The Heritage Council and Dublin City Council recently. These grants are particularly welcome in CMC’s 20th anniversary year. The Heritage Council award of The recordings are of works that are not otherwise available and digitising them will not only ensure preservation, but make them accessible to users of the Centre. The work will be carried out in-house by a part-time sound technician. Dublin City Council’s grant of The installations, which will be commissioned from Irish composers, will have a theme related to the history of this very old part of the city. They will be set up for the month of June 2006 in conjunction with The Ark’s season on sound installations and sculptures. CMC also intends to run a seminar during June on working with sound sculptures and installations, with contributions from some of those most active in this area of music-making.
