Blue of the Night Live

Ciarán Farrell
Ciarán Farrell

Music by composer Ciarán Farrell opens RTE Lyric fm’s 'Blue of the Night Live' at the Sugar Club in November.

The concert opens with the first movement of Farrell’s Shannon Suite in a new version for soprano saxophone and guitar. This work has been toured extensively over the past few months by Gerard McChrystal and Craig Ogden at venues across Ireland and the UK.

The complete suite can be heard on the new album PluckBlow which was recently released on the Meridian label. Also featured on this CD are Ian Wilson's Tern / Icarus, Greg Caffrey's Skipping, and the CD title track, Pluck, Blow, also by Greg Caffrey.

The concert takes place at the Sugar Club on Thursday 16 November at 10pm. It will be broadcast live on RTÉ lyric fm. See Calendar for details.
