Ian Wilson will be the featured composer at this year's Presteigne Festival in Wales (25-30 August). Six of his works will be performed, including his first string quartet, second piano trio and the premiere of In fretta, in vento for string orchestra. Performers include the Dante String Quartet, pianist Matthew Schellhorn, flautist Kathryn Thomas and cellist Thomas Carroll.

Last month Wilson attended the Impresariat Simmenauer in Heidelberg for a performance of his sixth quartet by the Callino Quartet and to participate in a seminar about the aesthetics of string quartet writing today. He has recently returned from Spain where he attended performances of his most recent piano trio, Negro negro elegia, by the Trio Arbos in Granada and Seville.
