Sounds Electric '05

Dr Richard Boulanger
Dr Richard Boulanger

Sounds Electric '05, a three-day festival of electro-acoustic and instrumental music, takes place in NUI Maynooth in December.

A celebration of innovation and originality, Sounds Electric brings leading international composers and performers in electronic and computer music to Ireland for an intense weekend of concerts, workshops and seminars.

Highlights include a seminar and performance by Dr Richard Boulanger using his Radio Baton; a dance and multimedia improvisation; a concert of live diffusion by composers using the Csound language; concerts featuring submissions from an international 'Call for Works'; and a concert by the ensemble EAR.

The Call for Works, for which the deadline is 28 October 2005, relates to two concerts of electro-acoustic music. Composers and researchers in the area of Computer Music are also invited to propose papers for presentation on sessions dedicated to the Csound language.

The festival takes place at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth from 2-4 December 2005.
