RTE lyric fm logo

During 2005 RTÉ lyric fm has commissioned a series of short pieces for broadcast.

These include an orchestral work by Fergal Carroll (in collaboration with author Máighreád Medbh), and a quartet for percussion and Bronze Age horns by Michael Holohan.

Chamber works have also been commissioned from Siobhán Cleary, Fergus Johnston, John Kinsella, Andreja Malir, Neil Martin, Michael McGlynn and Cameron Wilson.

RTÉ lyric fm has also commissioned the four test pieces to be performed by competitors during the semi-final round of the 2006 AXA Dublin International Piano Competition.

These are Seagull by Elaine Agnew, Tread Softly by Rhona Clarke, Moladh go deo le Dia by John Gibson and Grand Action by John McLachlan. They will be published by the Contemporary Music Centre in April 2006 as its Piano Album V.
