RTÉ Horizons Series Continues
The RTÉ Horizons series continues on 11 April featuring two Irish Irish composers. The lunchtime series takes place at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, on Tuesdays. Each performance, which includes major European and American contemporary works in addition to the Irish pieces, is preceded by a pre-concert talk from the featured composer. Jerome de Bromhead’s Symphony No. 1 is the centrepiece of the third concert on April 12, alongside Charles Ives’s The Unanswered Question. On April 19, Robert Houlihan will conduct two pieces by Rhona Clarke -- Everything Passes and the first performance of an RTE commissioned work, Where the clouds go. The programme also includes Michael Alcorn’s Synapse. Admission is free and concerts begin at 1.05pm with pre-concert talks starting at 12.30pm. For more information, visit the RTÉ web site.
