Join the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra behind the scenes for rehearsals of various works, including a Donnacha Dennehy premiere.

RTÉ's new four-part TV series, 'The Symphony Sessions', will provide fresh insight into the background work they do, through recordings of rehearsals and interviews with soloists and conductors who work with the orchestra.

In the programme on 5 September, composer Donnacha Dennehy describes his approach to writing for the TV audience for the first time. His work, Elastic Harmonic, is here performed by violinist Ioana Petcu-Colan and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

The series begins Monday 8 August at 10.15pm on RTÉ 1, continuing on 15 and 29 August and 5 September.
